Easy Font Previewer

Project Overview

Easy Font Previewer is a WordPress plugin for type foundries and font stores. It adds a preview area to font product pages, where visitors type their own text and see it set in the font.

Store owners upload WOFF2 or WOFF files through the Media Library into a Font Product post type, then place the preview on any page, post or product template with the [easy_font_preview] shortcode. The plugin builds on Font Type Tester by mitradranirban and is released under GPLv2.

  • Upload WOFF2 and WOFF files from the WordPress Media Library.
  • Several weights and styles per font, such as Regular and Bold.
  • Controls for size, line height, letter spacing, alignment and text transform.
  • A glyph map showing uppercase, lowercase, numbers and symbols.

The plugin is open source on GitHub. Version 1.0.0 runs on WordPress 4.6 and newer, is tested up to 6.4, and needs PHP 5.6 or later.

The front end uses vanilla JavaScript with no jQuery, uploads go through strict file validation, and styles are scoped so the preview does not clash with the store theme. Admins can match button colors, borders and fonts to their theme from the appearance settings.
